World Tribal Day Celebration in Standard Schools 2023

The International Day of the World’s Indigenous peoples is observed on 9th August each year to promote and protect the rights of the world’s indigenous peoples, which constitute around life million of the total human population of the planet earth. This event recognizes the achievements and contributions and protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population.

The day recognizes the first meeting of the United Nations working group on indigenous populations in Geneva in 1982. It has been celebrated every year since 1994, in accordance with the declaration by the United Nations.

The Scouts and Guides of the Standard Group of Schools celebrated this day with much enthusiasm. The theme for this year was “The role of indigenous women in the preservation and transmission of traditional knowledge”. The students spoke about the importance of the day and it was followed by tribal dance performance. It was a great day of celebration for the students and it was also a colorful and vibrant show for the audience to watch and applaud.
