Senior KG Students Shine in “Best Out of Waste” Activity at Standard Schools
On October 25, 2024, Senior KG students of Standard Schools, Dasarahalli, participated in the much-awaited 4th co-curricular activity, “Best Out of Waste.” This unique and engaging initiative was designed to foster creativity and environmental awareness among young learners. By encouraging students to repurpose waste materials into useful and visually appealing creations, the activity demonstrated the importance of sustainability in a hands-on and enjoyable way.
The enthusiasm and innovation displayed by the children were remarkable. Using items like old newspapers, cardboard, plastic bottles, and fabric scraps, they crafted colorful organizers, pen holders, and decorative items that reflected their growing ingenuity. Teachers guided the students to experiment and think outside the box, helping them realize the value of waste as a resource. Each creation was a testament to their imagination and problem-solving skills, demonstrating how learning can be fun, interactive, and meaningful.
The activity also served as a platform to instill essential values such as recycling, reducing waste, and reusing materials. Beyond creativity, students developed fine motor skills, teamwork, and the ability to see the potential in everyday objects. Standard Schools, Dasarahalli, continues to shine as the top ICSE school in Bangalore by incorporating such co-curricular activities that promote holistic growth. Through these initiatives, the school nurtures responsible and environmentally conscious citizens, blending academic excellence with values-based education.
