Senior KG Co-Curricular Activity – Flower Rangoli
The Senior KG students participated enthusiastically in their third co-curricular activity – Flower Rangoli. This colorful and creative activity was designed to introduce children to the beauty of traditional Indian art forms while encouraging their sense of design and teamwork. The little ones were very excited to explore the vibrant world of flowers and colors as they worked together to create beautiful rangoli patterns.
During the activity, children used fresh flower petals of different colors such as marigold, rose, and jasmine to design simple yet attractive rangolis. Teachers guided them step by step, helping them understand how to arrange petals carefully to form shapes and patterns. The fragrance of the flowers and the joyful chatter of the children filled the classroom with festive cheer, creating a lively and positive environment.
This hands-on experience not only helped in developing the students’ fine motor skills but also enhanced their sense of color, pattern recognition, and spatial awareness. It encouraged patience, concentration, and teamwork, as the children worked together to complete their floral creations. The activity also provided an opportunity to discuss the cultural significance of rangoli in Indian festivals and celebrations.
By the end of the session, the children proudly admired their beautiful flower rangolis and shared their experiences with friends and teachers. The activity was a delightful blend of creativity, learning, and fun, leaving every child with a sense of accomplishment and joy. It truly reflected the spirit of art and togetherness among the young learners.
