Green Day & Van Mahotsav – Eco fun for Pre-KG!
On 9th July 2025, the youngest members of Standard Public School—our enthusiastic Pre-KG students—came together to celebrate Green Day alongside Van Mahotsav, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning, fun, and environmental consciousness.
The event’s primary goal was to help children recognize the colour green and understand its deeper connection to nature, life, and sustainability. Green is not just a colour; it represents growth, energy, harmony, and renewal—all essential to maintaining a healthy and balanced environment. Through engaging activities, our little learners were introduced to the idea that trees and greenery are vital to the planet’s well-being.
The celebration began with classrooms beautifully decorated in various shades of green—from balloons and charts to leaf-shaped art displays—instantly immersing the children in the theme. Dressed in their best green outfits, the tiny tots looked like lively saplings ready to spread joy and awareness.
To mark Van Mahotsav, which is India’s annual tree-planting festival, the children participated in activities designed to emphasize the importance of trees in our everyday lives. Teachers guided them through simple yet meaningful discussions on how plants provide oxygen, food, shade, and beauty, helping even the youngest students grasp the idea that “trees are our friends.”
Adding to the excitement, the children sang nature-themed rhymes, engaged in interactive games, and took part in art-and-craft sessions where they made leaf prints, paper trees, and green-themed drawings. A special highlight was the “Go Green Pledge,” where every child raised their tiny hands and promised to care for plants, avoid waste, and protect nature in their small but significant ways.
The day was not only educational but also joyful, leaving the children with an early appreciation for the environment and a sense of responsibility toward preserving it. Events like these ensure that the seeds of environmental awareness are sown early, fostering future citizens who value and protect the natural world.
