Field Trip - Prakruthi Vana

Field trips are an essential part of the learning experience, providing students with opportunities to explore the world beyond the classroom. On July 31st, 2024, Standard Kids organized an enriching field trip for the Senior KG Carnations and Dahlias to “Prakruthi Vana” in Bangalore. This excursion, following the school’s celebration of “Vana Mahotsava,” offered young minds a unique chance to connect with nature and learn about the environment in a hands-on way.

During the trip, students were introduced to the invaluable gifts of nature—plants and animals. As they explored the serene surroundings of Prakruthi Vana, they observed a variety of trees, plants, insects, and birds. This direct interaction with nature allowed them to gain practical knowledge, fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world. The experience not only enhanced their understanding of biodiversity but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards protecting these natural treasures.

The field trip was designed to be both educational and enjoyable. While learning about different types of plants, the students also practiced walking in a line on the footpath independently, a skill that promotes discipline and coordination. Additionally, the journey to and from the venue provided an unexpected learning opportunity as the children identified metro stations along the way. This activity helped them learn how to navigate and behave in public spaces, boosting their confidence and social awareness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the school management for organizing such a valuable and exciting learning experience. The trip to Prakruthi Vana not only reinforced classroom learning but also encouraged students to explore, observe, and reflect on the importance of nature in our lives. These experiences are vital in shaping well-rounded, environmentally conscious individuals.
